About Guitar Summer Camp for Kids 2012
Fit a fun new activity into your child’s summer! Popular Tampa Bay guitar instructor Douglas Lichterman offers a children’s summer program for summer 2012 — the Guitar Summer Camp for Kids 2012 Lesson Package. The package is for children age 7 to 15 and offers 8 one-hour private guitar lessons that can be scheduled at your convenience between June 1 and August 31, 2012.
The rates for this program are extremely competitive: $25 per one hour private lesson in an 8-lesson package. (That’s just $200 for the whole summer, a 40% reduction from my standard rate to help fit your summer budget.)
About me
I’m a veteran guitar instructor who teaches privately and at schools around the Tampa Bay area. In addition, I’m a longtime professional guitarist and the co-author of two music instruction books: The About.com Guide to Acoustic Guitar and The Everything Harmonica Book.
I’m a patient and supportive teacher to children of all ages. My primary goal is to get your child up and playing quickly so he/she will gain confidence and have the desire to practice. We won’t start with boring scales and exercises — we’ll get right into playing songs that your child likes and is motivated to learn. The lessons are designed to keep children interested, enthusiastic and inspired by their own progress.
Lessons can be arranged around your schedule: You can book times in the morning, afternoon or evening on weekdays or weekends. You can also change days or lesson times from week to week if you need to. Lessons are conducted at my studio in St. Petersburg (near 34th Street North and 11th Avenue North).
It’s okay to share a lesson among two students at no extra charge, so a friend or sibling can participate. It’s also okay if you need to bring other children to the lesson (as long as they’re supervised) if you choose to wait here during the lesson. We have a private, comfortable waiting room with TV, books, toys, games and complimentary snacks to enjoy while you all wait. There’s also a children’s park with a swingset and picnic tables one and a half blocks away.
If your child plays guitar already, this is a great opportunity to sharpen skills and expand the repertoire of songs being played. And if your child has no guitar experience but has expressed the desire to play, this is your chance to find out if that curiosity about music is serious.
